New Computer Classes Starting This June

posted 23rd May 2025
We’re excited to share that starting June, we’ll be running free computer classes every Monday from 10am to 12pm at our centre. Whether you're completely new to using a computer or just want to build more confidence with technology, these weekly workshops are a great way to learn in a relaxed, supportive environment.
WHY DIGITAL SKILLS MATTER
In today’s world, digital skills are more essential than ever. Whether it’s sending emails, applying for jobs, using online banking, or simply keeping in touch with family and friends, confidence with computers opens up a world of opportunity. That’s why this workshop is about more than just learning to use a computer — it’s about building independence, confidence, and connection.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
These classes are designed to be beginner-friendly and will cover essential skills such as:
- Using a computer, mouse, and keyboard
- Browsing the internet
- Accessing online services
- Basic document management
Each session will be hands-on, with plenty of time to ask questions and go at your own pace.
This is not just a drop-in session—it’s a structured, progressive course that builds on skills from week to week. For this reason, we ask all participants to commit to attending each weekly session so they can get the most from the experience and keep up with the material.
Spaces are limited to ensure everyone receives personal attention and guidance, so we encourage anyone interested to register as soon as possible.
WHO CAN JOIN?
The workshop is open to adults of all ages who want to improve their digital skills. No previous experience is needed — just a willingness to learn and have a go! All equipment will be provided.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
When individuals become more digitally confident, the whole community benefits. People are better able to:
- Access healthcare and local services online
- Communicate with family and friends
- Apply for jobs and training
- Take part in community and civic life
We believe digital inclusion is a key part of creating a stronger, more connected community — and we’re proud to offer this opportunity to help bridge the digital divide.
